Current NIPEC Editorial Guidelines for Facebook

Facebook has been put onto NIPECs websites so that people can communicate their opinions in regard to NIPECs work including project reports or other documentation within the publication scheme. However, in a few cases NIPEC may need to edit an opinion first before putting it on the website. If we do edit an opinion, we will keep the changes to the minimum necessary to comply with our editorial policy, which is set out below.

Contributions we will edit

We will remove any offensive language such as swearing, or racist, sexist, homophobic or other discriminatory language.Sometimes we will edit a contribution to protect the anonymity or an individual of for legal reasons.

Contributions we will not publish at all

We will reject contributions which are mainly obscene, commercial or irrelevant to the website. Though we will make every effort to publish postings, we reserve the right not to publish any posting, at our discretion, and not to give a reason. We discourage people publishing long pieces of narrative which are over 500 words long. This is because it is hard to read such a large amount of text on a computer screen. But anyone can contribute as many short opinions as they like.
