Promoting Good
Nutrition
NIPEC was asked
by former Chief Nursing Officer, Professor Martin Bradley
“to lead a work
programme to develop resources to support improvements of nutritional care in
practice”;
this followed on
from the launch of the DHSSPS
Promoting Good Nutrition Strategy
on 9 March, 2011. The Strategy was designed to build on “Get your 10 a day”,
with the aim of improving the nutritional care of adults in all health and
social care settings in Northern Ireland.
The Resource
Development Steering Group was set up in February
2012 and comprises representatives
from across the nutritional care pathway - dietetics, nursing, general practice,
British Dietetic Association,
Royal College of Nursing, education providers, DHSSPS and NIPEC Council.
The Resource Development Steering Group is chaired by Pauline
Mulholland, Lead Dietician, South Eastern HSC Trust. For
